EASTER

Easter is one of the greatest festivities for children. It’s the equivalent of “Semana Santa” in Spain, where we celebrate the dead and resurrection of Jesucrist. But Easter has its beginning in Britain before the arrival of the Christianity, British celebrate the arrival of the spring.

SYMBOLS

Easter Eggs: Exchanging and eating Easter eggs is a popular custom in many countries. Nowadays it is normal to use chocolate eggs, but the tradition was using real ones. The eggs were hard-boiled and dyed in various colours and patterns.
An older traditional game is one in which real eggs are rolled against one another or down a hill. The owner of the egg that stayed uncracked the longest won. Nowadays people give each other Easter eggs made of chocolate, usually hollow and filled with sweets. Children hunt for Easter eggs hidden about the home or garden by the Easter bunny.

The Easter Bunny: In the UK children believe that if they are good the "Easter Bunny " will leave eggs for them. If you haven´t been too naughty you will find your egg easily.

The Easter Chicken: It is known that this animal is who makes the eggs, sometimes the chicken helps children to search their hidden eggs!
